Beyond the treatises that he wrote and published during his lifetime, Ostad Elahi conveyed the essence of his thought through informal oral teachings. Beginning in 1964, those who were close to him began preserving his teachings through their personal notes. Presented as a collection of sayings that retain the oral style in which they were brought to light, two volumes entitled "Words of Truth" (Asar ol-Haqq) were published on the basis of these notes. The sayings in the first volume are arranged by subject matter, while those in the second appear chronologically. Covering such topics as the principles of the process of perfection, self-knowledge, ethical principles and their application in society, and duties towards one's family, these sayings capture the heart of his wisdom and reveal the intimacy of his teachings, allowing us to see how the theoretical principles of his philosophy take on their full meaning when integrated with a spiritual practice that sheds light on them.
