Published in 1995 on the occasion of the centennial of Ostad Elahi's birth, Words of Faith focuses on an essential aspect of any spiritual practice: prayer. Ostad Elahi had an innovative vision of prayer that encompassed any act performed with attention towards God and the intention of drawing closer to Him. The different elements of his definition of prayer are presented in a systematic fashion in the first section of this book, while the second features a collection of Ostad's sayings and recommendations on the subject. In the last third of the book, the reader finds translations of supplications and spiritual poems recited or written by Ostad Elahi at different stages of his life. Inspired to a heart that was bound to God and a life resolved to spiritual practice and research, the supplications and orisons of Ostad Elahi are intimate and personal dialogues with the Creator that testify to the strength of the bond that every individual can establish with his or her Creator.
